Definition:
Soak the body from the waist to the buttocks /
Effect:
1. Eliminate pain after surgery of the rectum.
2. Accelerate healing and cleansing the operated portion
3. Eliminate spasm in the lumbar region, and bladder
4. Stimulate blood circulation in the waist
5. Soothing bladder
What is required:
1. A large basin, enough to possess one person
2. A smaller basin to soak the feet
3. A small bowl along with ice or cold water and compress.
4. A strand towel, long enough to be looped in the head
5. A single sheet or blanket to wrap the body
6. A single bath towel
7. A large pot of boiling water
Procedure:
1. Cook the water in a large pot.
2. Place a large basin in a chair or on the floor, fill with warm water
3. Remove any clothing. Cover the body with a blanket or cloth
4. Help the patient to sit in a basin, and insert his foot in a smaller basin containing water
5. Attach the cold compress on the forehead and slowly add the warm water in the basin to sit and soak foot basin, while increasing the temperature of the water as hot as can be on hold. Stir the water by hand while hot water is added. Be careful not to pour water on the buttocks and legs of patients.
6. Update cold compress on the head as often as possible. Add hot water continuously for 20 to 30 minutes.
7. At the end of the treatment, pour cold water into a basin to soak sit. Lift the leg and pour cold water on the feet and dry.
8. Help people get out of the basin and sponge with a splash of lukewarm or warm wet cloth wipe.
9. Let the patient rest and feel warm after this treatment.
Attention:
Warm sitz baths better done in the bathroom because the floor easily gets wet
